NetApp ONTAP SVM create (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI protocol)

Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs, formerly known as Vservers) contain data volumes and one or more LIFs through which they serve data to the clients. SVMs securely isolate the shared virtualized data storage and network, and each SVM appears as a single dedicated server to the clients.

Steps to create SVM create (NFS, CIFS, iSCSI protocol) 

Login to ONTAP using cluster IP
Click Storage ->SVMs 


Click-> create

Give SVM Name

Security Style -> Select Windows or Linux

Select Root Aggregate

Enter Search Domains

Enter Name Server

Press Submit and continue

Assign password for vsadmin

Check mark on Create a new LIF for SVM management

Assign IP Address -> Drop down and select Without a Subnet

Next page will popup

Enter IP address

Netmask

Gateway


Click Browse


Select port and press OK


Press Submit & Continue
